Earl Beutler, age 94, long time resident of Oakland, Oregon, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2013, in Reno, NV. He had recently moved there to live with his daughter, Joy and Richard Davis. What a glorious reunion it must have been with his beloved wife, son, grandson and other family members as they welcomed him into the Lord's Eternal Home, reunited with loved ones once again.
Earl was born September 24, 1919, in Jerome, ID, the 6th of 8 boys born to Edward and Margarette Beutler.
After the war, he met the love of his life, Joy Hunter, in Wilder, Idaho. They were married in February 1948 and moved to Oakland, Oregon, that same year. Here he built the home where they raised their family and lived for nearly 65 years.
Earl worked at Martin Box Company as a pipe fitter and plumber from 1948 until the mill closed in 1967. Then, doing the same work, he worked for Douglas County Lumber for 30 years until he retired at age 80.
Earl and Joy had two children; son, Ronald and daughter, Joy. Ron was killed in Vietnam in 1971. Ronnie's son, Willie, died that same year in a drowning accident. Earl's beloved wife, Joy, died in January 2013.
Earl is survived by his youngest brother, Carl Beutler; his daughter, Joy; his daughter, Elaine from a previous marriage, who gave him three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Earl had a green thumb, and loved time in his garden. He enjoyed bowling and was still going strong at age 93. He worked for the CCC's and was a veteran of World War II. He was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
A Grave side service will be held at the Fair Oaks Cemetery later in the spring.
