Following a losing fight against pneumonia and a critical illness of several days, Mrs. A.L. Rogers, 45, died at her home on Pinkerton street at 1:05 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Death came after physicians had battled valiantly for several days to save her life.

The deceased was the former Miss Mary Lou Baker, being the eldest child of former sheriff and Mrs. Joel Baker. She was born in Anderson county on October 15, 1888 in the old Kickapoo community. She came here with her parents at an early age and had spent most of her life in Athens. Sixteen years ago on October 12, 1916, she married A.L. Rogers. Mr. Rogers and their two children, Catherine 14, and Joel Baker Rogers 12, are left to mourn her loss.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rogers is also survived by three brothers, Tom, Lee and Victor, all of Athens; two sisters, Miss Katy Bob Baker, who is attending State University and Mrs. Zeb Keltner of Frankston. All were at the bedside when the end came.

Mrs. Rogers had been a member of the Methodist Church since childhood.
