Kenneth Glen Allred, age 82 years, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away Friday, January 24, 2014 in Fayetteville.

He was born July 24, 1931 in Allfriend, Arkansas, to parents Preston Eugene Allred and Elsie Viola (Blackston) Allred.

He attended Pleasant Valley School in Arkansas, and the School of The Ozarks in Missouri. After school he worked on a ranch in Wyoming. Kenneth served his country in the United States Army. He was a veteran of the Korean War, 1950 to 1953. After the war he moved to Greenfield, California where he met his wife Patsy. They were married and had five children. After moving the family to Arkansas, he worked for the United States Dept. of Agriculture and The University of Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Orvill, Lex, Russell and Coy, and one daughter, Cheryl.

He is survived by his wife Patsy; son Kenneth Allred, daughter Cindy Parker and husband Tom, Patricia Allred, Amy Gibson and husband Kyle, one grandson, William Gibson, all of Fayetteville, Arkansas; brother, Herbert Allred, of Fayetteville, brother Charles Allred, of Greenfield, California, sister, Ruby Hayes, of King City, California.

A memorial service is at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Moore's Chapel, Fayetteville, Arkansas, with Kyle Gibson officiating. The United States Army Color Guard will provide Military Honors. Burial will be private at Fayetteville National Cemetery.
