COOKEVILLE — Funeral services for Leslie Brown Alexander, 95, of Cookeville, will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31 from the chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home in Cookeville. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.

His family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until services on Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Alexander died Thursday morning, Jan. 30, 2014, in Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation — Masters in Algood.

He was born June 6, 1918, in DeKalb County to the late James Isaac and Alton Smith Alexander.

He was of the Baptist faith and was a farmer before becoming disabled.

Survivors include his son, Paul Alexander of Detroit, Mich.; five grandchildren; four sisters and a two brothers-in-law, Frances and husband Jackie Rigsby and Mary Foster, all of Smithville, Audry Elem of Nashville and Nancy and husband Bill Callwell of McMinnville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James Alexander, Billy Alexander and Ike Alexander, and his sister, Dorothy Beckham.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Rev. Mike Head will officiate at the services.
