Jennifer, 5, was last seen alive in September of 1970 as she walked from her school in New Haven, Connecticut, to her home to eat lunch. Eight days later she was found dumped in the woods in the Evergreen Avenue section of Hamden, Connecticut. She had been beaten to death with a rock. Jennifer's murder is believed to be connected to the murders of Dawn Cave, Mary Mount, and Diane Toney. Mary, Dawn, and Diane all disappeared from Connecticut during the last two weeks of May, 1969. Jennifer disappeared sixteen months later. All of the girls were beaten to death with rocks and dumped in the woods. Harold Meade, a truck driver, is the prime suspect in all four murders. He was sentenced to life in prison in 1972 for beating three mentally retarded residents of the Greater New Haven Regional Center with rocks. The murders were strikingly similar to the killings of Dawn, Diane, Jennifer and Mary, and Meade told police after his arrest that the mentally retarded people were not his only victims. Some of the witnesses to the girls' abductions identified him in phot lineup's as well. Police never charged Meade with any of the girls' murders. He maintains his innocence in their cases. He is still in prison and periodically comes up for parole. All bio information and photo's are from the website Children Who Never Made It Home (http://www.free-webspace.biz/thevictims/ages.html).
