Husband of Nell Martin-Porter. Adoptive father of Ethel Minerva Porter and my beloved maternal Grandfather.

My memories of him are taking me to the park and buying me a bag of candy corn and the a bag of popcorn for the pigeons.

We would feed them together. He was a quiet, kind, gentle, happy soul.

He died when I was six. I wish I had gotten to know him better.

Grandma Nell died about five months after him. The doctors told us she had a strong heart but after Bompee died, she didn't want to live without him. They said she died of a broken heart.
