Funeral services for Major Thomas Austin Wathen will be held at 2 pm, Monday, February 3, 2014 in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel with the Reverend James Vandergriff and Bishop Allen Celestine officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the United States Air Force. Committal services will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Thomas, 71, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Thursday, January 30, 2014 in his residence. He was born March 11, 1942 to the union of Thomas Clinton Wathen and Luella Irene Roberts Wathen in Fort Riley, Kansas. He was a loving father, brother, uncle and friend.

He is preceded in death by his parents: his wife, Eveleen Doyle Wathen; one brother and three sisters.

He leaves behind his loving family to cherish his memory, his daughter, Jennifer Marie Wathen of Oakdale; son, Thomas Aaron Wathen of Oakdale; two brothers, Daniel Edward Wathen of Topeka, Kansas and Kim Starr Wathen of Tulsa, Okalahoma; two sisters, Luella Fern Franqui of Tampa, Florida and Kathleen Ella Hamilton of Bushnell, Florida; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will begin Sunday, February 2, 2014 from 11 am until 10 pm, then on Monday, February 3, 2014 from 8 am until time of service in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel.
