DeMar W. Davis, 88, passed away after a long illness. Born in Downey, Idaho to Leo Davis and Rachel Woodland Davis, the family moved to Los Angeles when he was a child. He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1935 and UCLA in 1943, majoring in Political Science. He married Virginia Martin in 1944, a marriage that was to last 61 years. During World War II he served in the Military Government Office in Tokyo, Japan. He returned home to attend law school at USC, graduating in 1950. He was certified to practice before the Supreme Court, and practiced law in southern California for 25 years. He retired to a home on the golf course at Lake San Marcos in 1974. He was an avid golfer his entire life and was club champion several times. He and Jinny moved to Carlsbad in 2002. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be sorely missed. He is survived by his loving family; wife Jinny; children Anita Roberts (Alden), Jeff Davis and Nancy Davis; brother John Davis (Kay); grandchildren Bryan, Kerry (Dinky) and John Roberts; nephews Robert Quist, Hugh Quist and Doug Davis. Private Memorial Services will be held with burial at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.
