Thomas Perry Ford was the son of Nicholas & Susan(Chew)Ford. He married Mary A. Mountain, Sept. 19, 1865 in Richland county, Ohio. The couple had no children.
He enlisted Dec. 11, 1861 in the First Independent Ohio Light Artillery and served until June 27, 1865. He was in 17 battles and was twice wounded slightly. He died at the Soldier's Home in Sandusky after being there two months in very poor health.
