Tillie was the ninth child and the last one born on the farm in Wiedeville, Washington Co., Texas. She was raised on the farm in Needville where she learned to cook, sew, and needle point with her mother and older sisters. She also became the family photographer. On April 26, 1926, she married Michael John Heuring at Immanuel Evangelical & Reformed Lutheran Church, Needville, Fort Bend Co., Texas. Her son, George Heuring was born October 30, 1927. In 1931, her older brother, Rudolph's wife died after giving birth to their fourth son. She moved back to the Needville farm to help her brother raise his four boys ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
