Obituary:George L Seigler, 96, of Rome, died December 31, 2006 in Rome Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was born August 17, 1910, in Utica, the son of George and Nellie Seelman Seigler. He was educated in Rome schools. On August 12, 1946 he married Virginia "Ginny" Young in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
George worked for Flavor Seal Package Company for over 35 years, retiring in 1982.
He served in the US Army in the European Theater during World War II.
Surviving besides his wife, are two daughters and a son-in-law, June Fall, Clarks Mills, and Cheryl and John Costello, Rome; two sons, William Seigler and Roger Seigler, both of Rome; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Charles, and two brothers, Harold and Fred.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 8pm at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Interment will take place in Rome Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8pm.
