Deaths Doings
Died on January 31, 1900, Irene, lovely daughter of Brother and Sister J. B. Matlick, at their home about six miles south of Memphis, Mo., aged seven years, three months and sixteen days.
Funeral services were conducted by their pastor, Rev. Harwood, at their home and Bethel M. E. Church, after which by tender hands the remains were laid to rest in the Bethel cemetery. Irene was a bright, sweet child, greatly loved by her parents and many relatives and friends and while we all can truly say:
“A precious from is gone,
A voice we loved is still,
A place is vacant in our home
That never can be filled;”
Yet by the grace of God we are unable to truly say, although she can never come to us we will go to her, where friends shall meet again who have loved. Jesse Wilson
