Mrs. Gladys J. Lash, 73, of Big Rock died October 19, 1984 at her home. She was born June 14, 1911 in Aurora Township.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Big Rock; Farther Lights Society of Big Rock. She was employed for 29 years at the Post Office in Big Rock, serving the last 12 years as Head Postmaster.
Survivors include her husband, Albert Lash of Big Rock; one son, Adelbert Lash of Aurora; one daughter, Mrs. Barbara Williams of DeKalb; four granddaughters, Debbie Williams of DeKalb, Mrs. Bill (Karen) Yoder of Hinckley, Sherri Lash of Aurora and Laurie Lash of Aurora; one grandson, Mr. Kevin (Arlona) Williams of Aurora; two sisters, Beatrice Wheaton of Oswego and Vera Tiffany of Aurora; one brother, Albert Sherwin of Eola and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Ruby Sherwin and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, October 22 from the First Baptist Church, Big Rock. The Rev. Eugene A. Frost officiated. Entombment is in Greenwood Cemetery, Hinckley.
