"Doc" received his nickname during his military service, in WWII, as a US ARMY medical corpsman. He retired from Millwright local 1529 having worked as a craftsman, foreman and supervisor throughtout the Kansas City area.
He was survived by three sons: Herbert II, Bill & Clark; his 2nd wife Aubrey; a stepson & seven step daughters; a brother & sister. His first wife and brother are also buried in FLORAL HILLS Cemetery.
