Conney G. Abby was born on May 11, 1958, in Clarksdale, Mississippi. He attended public school and was active in sports and photography. He was baptized at a young age and was a member of Greater Centennial Missionary Baptist Church. He was a responsible, industrious young man who had big dreams!

After college, he moved to Greenwood, Mississippi, and began his professional career in civil engineering. He worked in the engineering industry for many years. Eager to advance his career, he relocated to Dallas, Texas. His ambition led him to pursue a new path in computer technology. In 1990, Conney began working for Murray Realtors as a System Manager. He created the original software interface with the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) system and national relocation databases. In 1991, he was recognized in the Dallas Morning News for his creation that revolutionized the real estate industry. He was respected by his colleagues for his intellect and expertise. His passion for innovation and love for computers led him to become an entrepreneur, providing consulting services and project management. He was successful and his services were in high demand.

Having a wife and family were among his many dreams and aspirations. On September 18, 1982, Conney married his college sweetheart, Erlexia Griffin. After nine years of marriage, they were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Chelsea Anais Abby. He was a devoted husband and doting father.

Conney had a love for basketball, tennis, and Corvettes. He balanced work and family while finding time to volunteer as Chelsea's basketball coach in both the Irving Girls Basketball Association and the YMCA.

Conney departed this life on Sunday, January 26, 2014. He will be remembered for his generosity, kindness, wisdom, and sense of humor.

He will be forever loved and remembered by his devoted and loving wife, Erlexia, and beloved daughter, Chelsea; mother, Channie Abby; sisters, Betty Williams, Idella Taylor, Dorothy Abby, Christina Abby, and Charlene Broom. In-laws, Annie Grace Griffin, Jeffery Griffin (Sandra), Debbis Griffin, Millicent Jacobs (Reuben), Avis LaFrance, Maurice Griffin (Evette), and a host of loving relatives and special friends.
