A memorial service will be held Saturday for Vinola F. Lehner of Hermitage. She passed away Tuesday (1-21-14) morning after a short illness. She was 96.
Nola, who lived at 2250 Shenango Valley Freeway for the past 18 years, was born Dec. 21, 1917, in Linton, N.D. She was a daughter of Charles and Mathilda Maier.
She was married to the Rev. Otto Lehner, who passed away Jan. 12, 1996. They served several Methodist churches in North and South Dakota and the Redbird Mission in Kentucky before retiring to the Shenango Valley in 1984.
A member of Hickory United Methodist Church, she was a former nurse.
She is survived by a daughter, LaVon Saternow (Lynn), Farrell; and a son, Jon Lehner (Judy), Rapid City, S.D.; five grandchildren, Alex Giroski (Karen), Greenville; Joel Giroski (Kim), Tampa, Fla.; Steve Lehner (Kim), Watertown, S.D.; Nancy Vaughan (Alex), Kansas City, Mo.; and Terri Harmon (Mike), Lee's Summit, Mo.; and several great-grandchildren.
One of 13 children, Nola's surviving siblings include: Harvey and Wallace Maier, both of Washington state; and Charlotte Acton, Arizona.
The family requests that any memorial contributions take the form of donations to Hickory United Methodist Church, Hermitage.
Service: Memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday (1-25-14) in Hickory United Methodist Church, 240 N. Hermitage Road, Hermitage, with the Rev. David S. Evans, pastor, presiding.

Interment: Arlington National Cemetery.
