Jeff graduated from Avon High School and from ITT, where he earned his heating and air conditioning certification. He was employed as a shipper at UTC Carrier since 1978. An avid outdoorsman, Jeff enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, his Jeep, and 4-wheelers. Above all, he was a family man and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis (Stockhoff) Gilliatt, to whom he was united in marriage August 15, 1975; mother, Virginia (Rhodes) Gilliatt of Clermont; son, Chad Gilliatt (Danette) of Marthasville, Missouri; daughter, Heather Hadley (James) of Mooresville; sister, Brenda Sigle of Avon; grandchildren, Abigail, Bailey, and Addison Gilliatt; Aiden, Collin, Nevaeh Hadley.
The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m., Friday, February 7, 2014, in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, February 6, 2014. Burial will be in Nebo Memorial Park Cemetery, Martinsville. Memorial contributions may be made to the First General Baptist Church, Indianapolis.
