James Baab

GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. -- James Jacob Baab, 83, went to be with the Lord April 7, 2013. He was formerly of the Wooster area.

A Korean War veteran, James proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1947-52, and was a member of the 526 Army Corps of Engineers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Martha (Wiseman) Baab; brothers, George, William, Harry, Glenn and John; and a sister, Gay.

Surviving are his loving wife of 51 years, Violet (Karkosky) Baab; a son, James Jr. (Patricia) and a daughter, Dena; grandchildren, Amanda Baab, Shelli (C.J.) Morris, Chelsea Baab and Kaley (Nick) Hall. He was also a very proud great-grandfather of Rylee Marie Morris, who adored her Papa. Also surviving are a brother, Nick; a sister, Bonnie; several brothers- and sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews; and countless other family and friends.

James was a longtime member of Lakeside Church of Christ, Orange Park, Fla., and was blessed with a loving church family. He retired from RingPower Corporation, Jacksonville, Fla., as a demonstration operator, after working all his life in the construction industry. He was very proud of his connection with RingPower and caterpillar equipment. He also loved the outdoors, working in his yard, and his two dogs, Jake and Emily.
