Her father was George Washington "Wash" Mayfield. He was born 12 Feb 1888 in Izard Co., Arkansas and died 22 June 1926 in Marion Co., Arkansas.


Joplin Globe newspaper, Feb 1868. Quapaw, Okla. -- Funeral services for Mrs. Otha Mae Striplin, 45 years old, who died at her home after suffering an apparent hear attack, will be at 10 o'clock Saturday morning in the Paul Thomas funeral chapel in Picher. The Rev. Leslie Couch, Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in the Miami G A R cemetery.
Mrs Striplin was born in Pyatt, Ark. March 4, 1922, and had lived in the Quapaw area most of her life. She and her husband operated a cafe in Quapaw until six months ago.
She is survived by her husband, Noah Striplin; five daughters, Miss Leeta Gover of Carthage, Mo., Mrs Emma Chaffin of Mesquite, Tx., Mrs Patricia Crabtree of Baxter Springs, Kan., Mrs Rita Kibel of the state of Iowa and Miss Otha Mae Gover of the home; a sister, Mrs Beatrice Wilson of the state of Colorado and six grandchildren.
