THE PARIS NEWS, April 29, 1987: “Nash Services - Funeral services for Ollie J. Nash, 2430 Highland, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 30, in Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Semple officiating. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Nash died Tuesday, April 28, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was born January 10, 1902, in Paris, a son of William J. Nash and Ona Bevill Nash. He attended Paris schools and married Essie Vietch on February 29, 1924, in Paris. He was the retired owner of Nash Produce Company, retiring in 1954. He was later a representative of Newton Manufacturing Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he taught the boys intermediate Sunday class for many years. He was a member of the Odd Fellow and Rebekah lodges and of the Paris Golf and Country Club. He was a former member of the Lions Club. Surviving are his wife; one son, W. A. (Bill), Nash of Paris; one daughter, Ella Joy Chopel of Mount Pleasant; seven grandchildren, Kathleen Cobb and James W. Chopel of Mount Pleasant, John Chopel of Edmond, Oklahoma, Debbie Woods of Henryetta, Texas, Daryl Nash of Garland, and Alice and Dana Nash, both of Paris; three great-grandchildren, Marty Chopel, Meredith Cobb and Candace Cobb, all of Mount Pleasant; two daughters-in-laws, Maxine Nash and Jimmie Lou Nash both of Paris; one brother, Carl Nash of Paris; two sisters, Mrs. Louis (Roma) Robinson of Paris and Mrs. Elmer (Elsie) McFadden of Paris. He was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Nash, in 1984, and a great-grandson, Charles Mac Cobb in 1972.”
