Earl D. Newcomer

Earl D. Newcomer, 77, Mammoth, died yesterday morning at his home.

He was born Oct. 28, 1891, in Fayette County.

Member of Pleasant Unity United Methodist Church where he served as treasurer for 27 years. Retired store manager for Unity Supply where he worked for 45 years. Member of Westmoreland Lodge 518, F, and AM, Greensburg.

Preceded in death by wife, Helen Baker Newcomer; in 1963, and a son, William, in 1967.

Surviving children, Mrs. Robert (Eleanor) Andrews, Elizabeth; Mrs. Clarence (Jean) Pritts, Scottsdale; Mrs. Edward (Margaret) Topper, Greensburg R.D., Floyd Richard, Irwin; seven grandchildren; brother, Harry, Detroit, Mich.; sisters, Mrs. Viola Henderson, Brownsville; Mrs. Arthur (Bessie) Graham, Connellsville; Mrs. William (Mae) Rowe, Republic.

Friends received at the James P. Gaut Funeral Home, Pleasant Unity, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. beginning at 7 pm today. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Pleasant Unity United Methodist Church, the Rev. Alvin K. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
