Curtis A. Wade, 37, 927 E. Charles St., a Fuller Brush salesman, was found dead in his car Monday, parked near the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, north of Daleville. He died sometime during the night of carbon monoxide poisoning, according to Coroner Gailon Stephens.
The man's wife had reported him missing earlier Monday when he failed to return home after his sales route. When the car was found, a rubber hose had been attached to the exhaust pipe and run through the floorboard.
He was born in Clinton County, Ky., and had lived in Muncie 15 years. He was a veteran of World War II, and was a member of the Moose Lodge. He attended Five Points Nazarene Church.
Surviving are his wife, Esther; five children, Deborah, Pamela and Sharon, at home, and Sandra and Michael, Wheeling; a sister, Mrs. Elsie Combs, Sparta, N.C.; five brothers, James, Akron, Noah and Delmar, Kokomo, and Herbert and Warner Wade, California.
Friends may call at the Stephens Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Thursday. Services will be there at 2 p.m. Friday with Rev. Doyle Hofferbert officiating. Burial will be in the American Legion Plot, Beech Grove Cemetery.
