Countess of Bristol

Daughter of Sir Jermyn Davers, 4th Baronet Davers, of Rougham, Suffolk, and Margaretta Green, sister and heiress of Sir Charles Davers. She had an older sister and four brothers. One of her brothers, Sir Robert Davers, immigrated to the American colonies and was killed by Pontiac Indians in 1763 on the St. Lawrence River.

Elizabeth married Frederick Augustus Hervey, Fourth Earl of Bristol On August 10, 1752 at Rushbrooke. Although Elizabeth was content to stay home with her children, her husband traveled a great deal and made plans for the expansion of Ickworth. Frederick also plainly stated his views which included Irish Nationalism and votes for Catholics. It was his support of Catholics which led to his arrest by King George III.

Once out of prison, Frederick continued to voice his opinions causing Elizabeth much consternation. During a carriage ride, she referred to Ickworth as a "monument to folly" and Frederick moved out permanently, and never spoke to her again.

Mother of Augustus John, Lord Hervey (d 1796) and Frederick William, Fifth Earl and Marquis of Bristol (1769-1859). She also gave birth to Lady Elizabeth Christiana Hervey Cavendish and Lady Louisa Theodosia Hervey Jenkins, Countess of Liverpool.
