He was born on September 24, 1946, in Taylorville, IL, the son Jesse Clifford and Rita (Owens) Crowder. He married Marie Ballard on September 19, 1964, in Taylorville, IL.
He was a retired machinist from Catepillar Tractor Company and drove a bus for Taylorville Transit and Cavello Bus lines.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; daughters, Pamela Anderson, Tamara (Michael) Wareham and Donna (Anthony) Turney; grandchildren, Jeffery Anderson, Britni (Sebastian) Fetten, Justin Turney, Jessica Turney, Brandon Wareham and Brock Wareham; brothers, Michael Crowder and Mark Crowder; sisters, Marcella (David) Ballard and Marlene Szabo; sisters-in-law, Barbara Stafford, Marlene Dunn, Marcia (Robert) Smith and Patricia Huddleston and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in passing by his parents; sister, June Smith and niece, Darlene Dance.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home, Taylorville, IL. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home, Taylorville. Pastor Chad Foster will officiate the services. Burial will be at Anderson Cemetery, Palmer, IL.
