Born October 30, 1928 in Weston, he was the son of the late Austin Ira Keys and Elsie Marie (Davis) Keys.
Mr. Keys was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the U. S. Marine Corps; lifelong member of the VFW of Martinsburg and the Loyal Order of the Moose in Charles Town.
He was retired from Metro Transit.
He is survived by his wife, three sons, 6 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Glenn Edward Keys, on December 5, 2013.
A combined funeral service for Benton and Glenn will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at Brown Funeral Home's South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood with Pastor Tim Butler officiating. Interment with military honors will be held at Rosedale Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
