Delva Grace Ehlers, died Friday, February 7, 2014 at the Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center, Albion, Nebraska.

Delva daughter of Carl and Phoebe (Baie) Waldschmidt, was born August 26, 1923 at Big Rock, Illinois.

Delva was baptized at Big Rock Presbyterian Church and confirmed at the Hinckley, Illinoia First United Methodist Church.

She attended school in Hinckley, Illnois, and graduated from Hinckley (IL.) High School in 1941.

Following high school, Delva completed courses at a beauty school in Aurora, Illinois and opened her own beauty shop which she operated for 3 years in Hinckley, Illinois.

On September 3, 1943, Delva was united in marriage to Floyd Ehlers at her parents' home in Hinckley, Illinois. To this union, a son Thomas was born in 1945.

In 1946, they moved to a farm northeast of Albion, Nebraska. In 1956 their second son Mark was born. In 1971, they moved 3 miles north of Albion, Nebraska.

Delva was employed as a secretary at Farm Bureau for 15 years, retiring in 1984.

Floyd passed away in 1981.

In 1995, Tom and Delva moved into Albion, Nebraska.

Tom passed away in 2005.

Delva was a member of the United Methodist Church of Albion, Nebraska, Eastern Star, Women's Society, Senior Center, YM Club and volunteered at the Mission Possible Store.

Delva is survived by: son, Mark Ehlers and wife Rhonda of St. Edward, Nebraska; grandchildren: Chase Ehlers of Elkhorn, Nebraska and Whitney Ehlers of Norfolk, Nebraska;

Delva was preceded in death by: parents; husband, Floyd Ehlers; son, Thomas Floyd "Tom" Ehlers and brother, Dallas Waldschmidt.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at the United Methodist Church, Albion, Nebraska with Rev. Larry Barbary as officiator.

Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion, Nebraska.
