George Daniel Yoder, 66, died in a Freeport hostital Friday morning after a several weeks illness. He lived at 625 North Hardin avenue.
Mr. Yoder was born in Freeport Oct. 17, 1884 and was educated in Freeport schools.
He was employed by the Illinois Central railroad company for many years before retiring four years ago.
He was married to Miss Emma Ward.
Survivors include five daughters and three sons, Mrs. Alice Pfeiffer and Mrs. Genora Oppold, both of Stockton, Mrs. Jeanette Schlegel, Rockton, Mrs. Gladys Schoenhardt and Mrs. Thelma Giuffre, and Paul, Eff and Wayne Yoder, all of Freeport. There are 22 grandchildren.
A sister and two brothers also survive, Mrs. Vera Koboldt and Glenn Yoder, both of Freeport, and Floyd Yoder, Detroit, Mich. Two sons, Irving and Glenn Daniel Yoder, Jr. preceded him in death.
Service will be held at the Walker mortuary at 1:30 p.m. Monday. Rev. V. Edward Birch, pastor of First Methodist church, will officiate. Interment will be made in Oakland cemetery.
