Marvin Haymond was born Sept. 12, 1942 to Rex and Rosalie (Givan) Haymond. He was a 1961 graduate of Winterset High School. He earned his bachelor's degree from Iowa State University and master's degree in social work from the University of Minnesota. On Aug. 2, 1979, he married Elaine Boyer in Minneapolis, Minn. Marvin's professional career included working with emotionally disturbed children at St. Joseph's Home for Children in Minneapolis and medical social work at the University of Minnesota Hospitals, also in Minneapolis. He also worked at Sunrise Hospital and Veterans Administration Hospital in Las Vegas. Additionally, he helped develop programming for veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
He is survived by his wife, a daughter, his father, a sister, and a brother.
