Barbara Wilson, 67, of Tallahassee, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Margaret Dozier Hospice House at Big Bend Hospice. She is survived by her husband, Jim Wilson.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, EDT, Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Northwoods Baptist Church, 3762 Capital Circle NW in Tallahassee. The family will be receiving friends Tuesday (tonight) from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Bevis Funeral Home on North Monroe Street in Tallahassee.
Gifts in memory of Mrs. Wilson may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308.
A native of Geneva, New York, Mrs. Wilson moved to Tallahassee from Fairfax, Virginia in 1976. Following her retirement from the Florida Department of Revenue she worked for several years in the office of Thomasville Road Baptist Church. She was a member of the Leon County Sheriff's Department Auxiliary Reserves and Northwoods Baptist Church. Also surviving are her son, Patrick F. McGarry (Kathy) of Ridgecrest, CA; two step-sons, Alan Wilson of Knoxville, TN and Brian Wilson of Tallahassee; her brother Richard Alan Lohr (Jeannie) of Fairfield, CA; three grandchildren, Adam Clay Smith, Connor Ryan McGarry and Alexis Jewell McGarry; her niece, Amanda Lohr; and her nephew, Brian Lohr.
