Elma Gaylord, industrialist's wife, dies at 80
Mrs. Elma Gaylord, 80, 2425 Clinton Place, wife of Robert M. Gaylord, former president and chairman of the board of Ingersoll Milling Machine Co., died Tuesday in Rockford Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
The former Elma Morlan was a direct descendant of a Illinois pioneer family. Born Dec. 23, 1896, she was the daughter of John and Florence Jordan Morlan. Mrs. Gaylord had been a Rockford resident since her marriage to Robert M. Gaylord May 17, 1949.
Survivors include her husband; three stepsons, Robert Jr., Clayton, and Edson;, all of Rockford; and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Helen Townsend, Falls Village, Conn.
