ROBERT HAND WELL KNOWN FARMER DIES A well-known retired farmer of the Hazeldean district, Robert Hand, died on Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lorne Bradley, Stittsville, after a lengthy illness. He was 75. Mr. Hand was born at Hazeldean, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hand. He received his education at Hazeldean where he farmed all his life until he retired. He was married at Hazeldean in 1903 to Georgina Ida Boucher who predeceased him last January. Mr. Hand was a member of St. Pauls Anglican Church at Hazeldean and was a member of the Loyal Orange Order at Hazeldean. He retired from farming 10 years ago and went to live at Richmond. Mr. Hand leaves to Mourn, seven sons, Ernie, of Norwood, N.Y.; Gordon, of Halifax; John, Thomas, Russell, Lloyd and Vincent, all of Ottawa; five daughters, Mrs. James S. La Brake (Agnes), Norwood, N.Y.; Mrs. H. Lorne Bradley (Jennie), Stittsville; Mrs. John Armstrong (Ruby), Kinburn; Mrs. Harold Todd (Doris), Newburg; two sisters, Mrs. Sydney Boucher (Annie), Leny, Sask.; and Mrs. A. Major (Pheobe), Leny, Sask.; one brother, Thomas Hand, of Leny, Sask.; 28 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The body is resting at the Tubman Funeral Home, 403 Richmond Road. The cortege will leave the funeral home on Tuesday at 2 p.m. for funeral service at St. Pauls Anglican Church, Hazeldean, at 2:30 p.m., the Rev. L. Bradley officiating. Interment will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery, Hazeldean.
