Richard D. Anderson, 74, lifelong resident of Wolf Point, went home to be with his Lord on July 26, 2002, due to complications after surgery at Billings Deaconess Hospital.

Mr. Anderson was born December 13[14], 1927, in Glendive to the late Edwin and Myrtle Anderson. He served with the military police in the U.S. Army as well as an escort for Gen. Douglas MacArthur.

He married Esther Hoch on July 20, 1952. They just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

He owned and operated Anderson's Refrigeration and Hydraulic Service. He was a very generous man and often worked several hours for a cup of coffee for payment. Mr. Anderson's passions included breaking wild horses, trail rides, reminiscing, and thinking of inventions to make life cooler.

He was preceded in death by his infant son Wesley Duane, his parents, one brother, and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife Esther; daughters (spouses) Kathy Conner (Mark), and Colleen Borgen (Darrel), all of Wolf Point, and Carol Fender (Tom) of Billings; son Wayde Anderson of Billings; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and brother Joe Anderson of Missoula.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His presence and advice will be greatly missed.

At Rick's request, cremation has taken place. A family memorial will be held in his honor. Michelotti Crematory is in charge.
