She died in a nursing home in Potsdam.

She was born in Lake Clear, the daughter of the late Mary Jane and Henry Swinyer. She moved to Vermontville when a small child.

She was married to Charles Maxfield in 1916. The couple resided in this village until 10 years ago when they moved to Brasher Falls.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Rolland of the U. S. Army, Harland of Glens Falls and Hayden of Brasher Falls; three brothers, Arthur and Everett Swinyer of Vermontville and Moton Swinyer of New London, CT: two sisters, Mrs. Oliver LaPradd of Rome and Mrs. John Tyler of Fulton a half-brother, Harvey Weaver of Vermontville and a half-sister, Mrs. Adonna Williams of Rochester. There are several grandchildren.
