Mrs. Minnie Newby Ricketts, a resident of Minneapolis for nearly a quarter of a century, died Thursday of heart disease at her home, 3615 Fourth avenue south. Mrs. Ricketts was the founder of the Minnesota Alpha chapter of Pi Beta Phi, establishing the sorority in May, 1890. She was a graduate of the University of Michigan. For more than 20 years Mrs. Ricketts was active in work of the women's organizations of Plymouth church. She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy of Minneapolis, and a son, George. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p. m. at Lakewood chapel. Dr. Harry P. Dewey of Plymouth church will officiate. Interment will be at Lakewood cemetery.
