Geist, who was born on 24 Feb 1908 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny Co., Pa., a daughter of Lawrence V. Geist (b. Sep 1867, Pa.) and Antoinette Gross (b. Feb 1873, Pa.). Merle and Clara had four children—2 sons and 2 daughters—Donald Merle, Merle Edward, Joan Claire and Barbara A. Clara died on 31 May 2002 in Glenshaw, Allegheny Co., Pa.
