Constance Young Reynolds, 79, of Fernandina Beach, FL, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2001 at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL. Born in Americus, GA, she previously resided in Tallahassee, FL and Albany, GA. (She was a summer resident on Reynolds Mountain in Asheville, North Carolina.) She was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Tallahassee, FL. Ms. Reynolds served in the Woman Air Service Pilot Corps (W.A.S.P.) during WWII, ferrying bombers and planes throughout the United States. She was Past Regional Director of the W.A.S.P.s and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and the Ninety-Niners and an active member in the American Legion Post #54. During her career she served as a homemaker, retired from the Department of the Treasury, and worked as a realtor. She was an avid golfer and was a member of many women's golf associations. She had many friends and family members who will miss her dearly. She was a supportive and loving mother and grandmother, not only to her own children and grandchildren, but to her friends as well. Survivors include her son: Judge George S. Reynolds, III Tallahassee, FL; daughters: Marie Kelly Tallahassee, FL, Jamie Sprague Bulkcom, Blakely, GA, Julia Reynolds Nowlin, Fernandina Beach, FL; sister: Claire Baldino Reinke, Lake Placid, FL; 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Tuesday at Oxley Heard Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday in the Burgess Chapel at the funeral home. Conducting the service will be the Rev. Jackie Hayes. A funeral service will also be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday in the Bevis Funeral Home Chapel in Tallahassee, FL Interment with military honors will follow at 3:00 P.M at Crown Hill Cemetery in Albany, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Presbyterian Thornwell Home and School for Children, P.O. Box 60, Clinton, SC 29325. Oxley Heard Funeral Directors.
