Our beloved father, grandfather and friend, Reyes M. Gonzales, 83, of Las Cruces, entered eternal life to be with his heavenly Father, at his home surrounded by his family. Reyes was born Jan. 5, 1931, in San Miguel to Demetrio and Eloisa Marquez Gonzales.

He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. Reyes worked for Western Electric Heating and Cooling for many years, and was a member of the VFW Post 10124.

Those left to mourn his passing included his son; his daughter, all of Las Cruces. Other survivors included two grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Reyes was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ysidora Ontiveros Gonzales in 1982, a son, Javier Gonzales in 1987, four brothers and four sisters.

At Mr. Gonzales' request, cremation has taken place and a memorial services was held in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, with the Rev. Dwayne Thompson officiating. Inurnment of cremains followed at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, with military honors accorded by the New Mexico National Guard Honor Guard and the Marine Corps League- El Perro Diablo Detachment.

Services arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels and Sunset Crematory of Las Cruces.
