M. Viola Nickerson Mars Hill 86. Wife of the late Thomas Nickerson, died 10-31-1993 at a Caribou hospital. She was born 1-19-1907 in Boston, MA., the daughter of J. Milton and Elizabeth (McPherson) Anderson. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Mars Hill. She graduated from high school in Mars Hill and was a graduate of Presque Isle Normal School. She received her BS degree at Aroostook State Teachers College. She had taught at SAD#42 in Mars Hill at the class room level with the exception of 5 years as a music supervisor. Mrs. Nickerson retired in 1972. She was a past member of the Literary Club, a member of all educational organizations, past member of Rebekkah Lodge, and a life member of Eastern Star No.140 of Mars Hill. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann (Nickerson) Osgood of Brewer, 2 grandsons and their wives, Thomas and Ann Osgood of Easton and Jeffrey and Pamela Osgood Dyess AFB, TX., 2 granddaughters, Laurie Bjorn of Bangor and Julie and her husband, Mario Barrows of Kennebunk, 6 great grandchildren, she is also remembered by a special son in law, Fred Osgood of Easton. Burial Corner cemetery in Bridgewater.
