Leola D. Garrett, 87, of Columbus, Indiana, died at 2:50 p.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
She was of the Presbyterian faith and was a homemaker.
Cremation is planned with a memorial service at a later date. Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Garrett was born in Grayson County, Kentucky, December 31, 1926, the daughter of James Clyde and Cora Osbun Durbin. She married Verne M. Garrett of Hayden, Indiana, on March 4, 1944. He preceded her in death June 7, 2007.
She is survived by two sons, Douglas Garrett of Alaska and Nathan (Kathy) Garrett of Columbus, Indiana; one daughter, Brenda Garrett of Alabama; one grandson, Travis (Kristen) Garrett of Columbus, Indiana; one granddaughter, Tessa (Steve) Thorstenson of Mooresville, Indiana; three great-grandchildren; two brothers; and two sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, and two sisters.
