Calvin Matthew Rogers was Baptised June 2, 1848 in Hardin County. Married Eliazbeth Ann Woodring of Hardin County. Their children were: Fatima Catherine, Lucinda Jane, Jacob Colmore Rogers, Benjamin H., George, Sarah Hannah, William Allen, Virgil Squire, Mry M., and Elizabeth. Lifetime Farmer. Son of Jacob Rogers the son of Matthew Rogers who built Rogers Fort at Bardstown, Kentucky in 1780, and built Cedar Creek Baptist Church just East of the Fort in 1781.

Calvin Matthew Rogers was the brother of Lawson Tolbert Rogers, Colemore George Rogers, William Pusey Rogers, Zadock Rogers, Elizabeth Rogers, Precious Mary (Polly) Rogers, Warren J. Rogers, Fatima Rogers, Irena Rogers.

Calvin Matthew and Family had to hide out many a time during the Civil War to save their lives from the Yankee Army. Elizabeth had a gun she kept with her on their way to church on Sundays in case of Yankee invaders. Their land was raided and animals stolen many times during the Civil War.
