Word was received in Alta on Tuesday morning that Mrs. Delford Hatch had passed away at 11:00 on Monday, following a long illness. Mrs. Hatch was operated on some months ago for treatment of a cancer. Funeral services were held in Long Beach on Wednesday of this week. Mrs. Hatch will be remembered as Miss Myrtle Fleischmann, a former instructor in the Alta school. She was a graduate of the Buena Vista college. Following her marriage to Mr. Hatch, they lived in Marathon for several years, where Mr. Hatch was engaged with his brother Bert, of Alta, in the furniture business. About eight years ago they removed to California. Besides her husband, on daughter, Muriel survives. The many friends of Mr. Hatch in this section extend their deepest sympathy.

Mrs. Myrtle Iva Hatch, 39, the 2096 Lewis Avenue, a teacher, died this morning at her home after a four-month illness. She came here eleven years ago from Marathon, Iowa. She was born July 10, 1895, in Oldham, South Dakota. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Marathon chapter No. 459, Order of Eastern Star. She had taught at primary school in Lynnwood for three years and for the past three years have taught in the Carmentia School district near Artesia.
She is survived by her widow Delford E Hatch, a salesman, formerly of the American Avenue Hardware Company; a daughter, Muriel, 9, who is known to Long Beach radio listeners as a participant in the comrades of the air programs over KGER.; four sisters, Mrs. Lewis Lee of Long Beach, Mrs. Ed Arch of Nampa, Idaho; Mrs. W. H. McIvor of Canada and Mrs. J. E. Reynolds of Oldham, South Dakota; five brothers, E. R. Fleischman of Long Beach, Ora Fleischman of Froid, Montana; Hamlin Fleischman of Wahpeton, North Dakota and Charles Fleischman of Boise, Idaho, and Floyd Fleischman of Oldham South Dakota and her foster mother, Mrs. Ella Whealen of Stuart, Iowa.
The funeral will be announced by the B. W. Coon funeral home. Dr. George M. Rourke of the First Pres. church will officiate. The Long Beach Times.
