She married Paul Blanc, a German immigrant, Aug. 20, 1880 and they had six children of whom two daughters preceded her in death.
Their children were:
1. Bertha Nathalia, b. in Menomonee Falls 10/28/1881, 2nd. m. Dunn William Bursell, had 2 sons, 2nd. m. John VanKirk, d. 3/14/1939 in Spokane,WA.
2. Samuel Oscar, b. in Menomonee Falls 2/13/1883, invernter of Roto-Rooter
3. Freda, b. in Dorchester 4/29/1885, m. Ed Smith and m.2nd Ed Fitzgerald, d. 9/20/1935 in Chicago
4. Edwin Otto, b. in Dorchester 5/2/1887, m. Katherine Friedland in 1910, had 2 daughters, d. 12/26/1967 in Spokane,WA.
5. Benjamin Harrison, b. 1/9/1891
6. Milton Charles, b.in Dorchester 4/4/1894, m. Lucille, d. in Sepulveda, CA.
Her husband was known as a very generous man and had a fine singing voice. He was a Justice of the Peace, public auctioneer, town clerk and businessman. When their youngest was but 3yrs. old, her husband took his own life in a dark moment. Mary had her eldest boys go to work and she did baking and cleaning.
Her Evangelical church membership was important to her and she was distinguished with loyalty and devotion. Her grandchildren remember her strict and thrifty ways, having passed down some of Mary's rag rugs.
She married Matthias John in 1910. Her grandchildren called her Grandma John.
