Mr. Charles Ray Smith, 55, died June 2 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services were held Friday at 3 p.m. at Rose-Neath Chapel with Rev. Jack Byrd officiating. Burial was at Arlington Cemetery.
Mr. Smith was a native and lifelong resident of Claiborne Parish where he attended the public schools. He was an employee of the Louisiana State Highway Department and a member of the Ruple Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Patsy Ruth Smith of Homer; one son, Donald Ray Smith of Junction City, Arkansas; one daughter, Clarinda Winget of Homer; his mother, Mrs. Lura Smith of Homer; three sisters, Mildred McHam and Betty Ruth Garriga, both of Homer, and Patricia Ann Winterrowd of Pasadena, Texas; two brothers, Albert Smith and Robert Earl Smith, both of Homer; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Gary Smith, Gary Robinson, Chris McHam, Lavelle Penix, James Geter, Huey Pate, Horace Heard and Alan Smith.
