Clarence Hillyer, 87, a retired farmer, died at 3 this morning in his home, 838 18th Ave. A., Moline. He had been ill about three months. Mr. Hillyer had lived in Moline for the last nine years and worked s a janitor in the Farmall plant the last eight. He had farmed in the vicinity of Plymouth Illinois. Born in Brooklyn, IL., on June 20, 1885, the son of Willis Hillyer and Carrie Burton, he married Phyllis Harrison in Quincy, IL., on Jan. 31, 1917. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving are the widow; a son, Essmon Hillyer, Moline; three grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Srattch Bible, Prairie City, IL., and Mrs. Clifford Davison, Mrs. Bentley Ballard, Mrs. George Roudebusch and Mrs. Oda Ballard, all of Plymouth; and three brothers, Ben and Lee of Colchester, IL., and Wayne of Plymouth. One brother and one sister preceded in death. The body is in DeRoo Funeral Home where friends may call this evening. It will be taken to the home of a sister in Plymouth tomorrow and the funeral will be held there Sunday. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery near Plymouth.

Funeral services for Clarence Hillyer, 67, of 838 Eighteenth aveue, Moline, who died at 3 a. m. today at his home following a three-month illness, will be held Sunday afternoon in Plymouth, Illinois. Mr. Hillyer was born in Brooklyn, Illinois, June 20, 1885. A resident of Moline for nine years, he was employed at the Farmall company where he worked for nine years as janitor. He married Phyllis Harrison Jan. 3, 1917, in Qumcy, Illinois. He was a member of the Methodist church. Surviving are his wife; a son, Essmon, of Moline; three grand children; five sisters, Mrs. Blanch Bidle of Prairie City, Illinois, Mrs. Clifford Davison of Plymouth, Illinois, Mrs. Bentley Ballard of Plymouth, Illinois, Mrs. George Radoudebiesh, of Plymouth, Illinois, and Mrs. Oda Ballard of Plymouth, Illinois, and three brothers, Ben of Colchester, Illinois, Lee of Colchester,, and Wayne of Plymouth, Illinois. One brother and one sister preceded him in death. The body is at tne DeKoo funeral home where friends may call after 7 p. m. today.
