Etna, NH — Ruth C. Adams, 93, a lifelong area resident, passed away at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH on Saturday February 8, 2014. She was born on March 8, 1920 in Lebanon, NH to the late Hart & Flora (Hadley) Crandall. Ruth graduated from Lebanon High School, class 1938. While in school she was a member of both the Glee Club and Drama Club. She was also a member of the Ladies Aid in Etna. She was married to Robert H. Adams Sr. on June 15, 1940 at the First Baptist Church of Lebanon. Ruth had proudly worked as a secretary to the head master of the Lebanon schools. She also had worked for the Hanover School District. Ruth was family centered, she enjoyed cooking and reading.
Ruth and her husband raised six children; she is survived by Robert Adams Jr. and his wife Kathy, Rebecca LaHaye and her husband John, and Roberta Hayward and her husband Patrick, eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Robert and three children, two daughters Robina Wilmott and Lila Crane, and a son Frederick Whitney, She was also predeceased by a brother and four sisters.
There will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to her funeral at the First Baptist Church of Lebanon on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 11 am, burial will follow in the Hanover Center Cemetery.
