Loy F. Sriver, 76, of Rochester, passed away at 4:05 PM on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Parkview Regional Medical Center of Fort Wayne.

Born in Rochester, on August 22, 1937, Loy was a treasured son of Merle Edward and Mary Hilda Redinger Sriver. The oldest of three children Loy shared his childhood with a brother Eddie and a sister Doris who passed away at age 8. With great Zebra pride, Loy graduated from Rochester High School with his class in 1956.

On June 1, 1968, Loy and Arlene Simonin were married by the Chief of Justice Thelma Carr at the Fulton County Courthouse. Together they shared over 45 years of life's adventures.

Loy served our country with the National Guard. He was a devoted member of the Church of Nazarene, Rochester. Loy was a machinist at Lau Industries of Rochester for a number of years retiring in September of 2001. Earlier on he was a baker at the Zimmerman's Pastries.

To relax Loy loved mowing his nearly two acre yard. Each summer you could see him riding his Grasshopper, manicuring the grass to perfection. In his spare time he fly-fished for bass. He also acquired many friends on the CB radio. He went by handles "Smoke Pole," or "Radio Doctor."

Left to cherish Loy's memory are his wife, Arlene at home; a son Michael Sriver and wife Donna; 2 grandchildren: Christopher Sriver, Sherri Lee Sriver, all of Chatsworth, IL; aunt Pauline Redinger of Rochester; special family friend Tom Bearss; and his canine companion Bear, a Huskie-Chow mix; and his two feline companions: Twinkles, a black and white domestic short hair, and Sierra, a grey calico.

Preceding Loy in death are his parents, a sister Doris Sriver, and a brother Merl "Eddie" Sriver on January 4, 2014.

Pastor Don Meyer will officiate services. Military rites will be accorded by the Fulton County Honor Guard. Interment will be in the Citizens Cemetery.
