Mr. Barnes was a member of the Goreville First Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed his community and was good to the people in it and liked to help people. Steven loved visiting his family. His hobbies included industrial painting, restoring old cars and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Katrina Barnes of Goreville; son, Michael Barnes of Illinois; sons, Keith Barnes of Marion, and Gabriel and Georgia Barnes of Goreville; daughter, Tammy and Mark Behnke of Chicago; four grandchildren, Alexis, Bryce, Evan and Silas; six brothers, Steve and Dee Barnes of Belknap, Roger Barnes of Vienna, Uriah Barnes of Vienna, Billy and Linda Spraggs of Mounds City, Travis and Kim Spraggs of Mounds, and Alonzo and Tammy Spraggs of Tamms; and four sisters, Jane and Wendell Bradley of Joppa, Christina Barnes of Belknap, Tonya and Ronnie Sams of Olive Branch, and Tina Spraggs of Colombia, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Patty Herera.
Services will be at 1pm Tuesday, Feb. 18, in Blue Funeral Home in Goreville, with the Rev. R.G. Null officiating. Burial will follow in Cana Cemetery in Goreville. Visitation will be from 11am-1pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Daily Register, Posted Apr 18, 2012.
