William W. 'Bill' Buckley of Florence died Thursday, March 28, 2013 at his home with his family by his side. He was 82.

Born in Cranford, a graduate of Swarthmore College, University of the Philippines, and Rider University, he served his country in the Korean War.

Bill was a town manager in various locations, including Santa Cruz, Calif. Before moving to Florence seven years ago, Bill and Joan lived on Long Beach Island for 20 years where he sold and appraised real estate while being involved in local politics.

Bill was a raconteur and his holiday newsletters were filled with all of the family activities and milestones throughout the year.

An avid Eagles fan, he never missed a game.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joan, and his four children, Charles (Linda), Michael, Nancy, and David; five stepchildren, Michelle Martin (Sean), Janette Logan (Jeff), Elizabeth Shirley (Michael), Carl Heinert (Dee), Mary Mitchell; and 21 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who loving called him 'Grandpa Ocean'.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral, 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, at the Perinchief Chapels, 438 High Street, Mount Holly. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Special thanks to Samaritan Hospice for their complete care and assistance at this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in Bill's name to a charity of your choice.
