Mr. Jeffrey
Earl Simpson Jeffrey, 75, Cherokee, died this morning at Colbert County Hospital, Sheffield, after a brief illness.
Services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. from Calvary Baptist Church, Barton, by Rev. Otis Hicks and Rev. Jimmy Davis. Burial will be in New Barton Cemetery, Morrison-Elkins of Tuscumbia directing.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Earl Simpson Jeffrey, Cherokee; four daughters, Mrs. W. C. Owens and Mrs. Paul B. Keel, Birmingham; Mrs. Harold C. McMurray, Mrs. Jack McLeod, both of Tuscumbia; two sons, R. W., Austin, Tex., Earl M., Miami, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. C. J. Young, Town Creek, Mrs. Ruben Hall, Hatton; a brother, W. A., Town Creek; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Nephews will serve as bearers.
He was a native of Lawrence County, a veteran of World War One and a member of the Baptist Church.
The body will be at the funeral home until being place in the church one hour prior to services.
