WATERTOWN, N.Y. — Katherine E. Bevens, 96, died Monday morning, Feb. 17, at the Samaritan Keep Nursing Home where she had resided since 2009.
Born Jan. 11, 1918, in Watertown, the daughter of Elijah and Elizabeth Shampine Shultz, she was a graduate of Brownville High School.
Mrs. Bevens was employed with Jefferson Rehabilitation Center for many years and was a home party dealer for Beeline, Tupperware and Friendly Home Toys.
She enjoyed crocheting, plastic canvas, crafts, cooking and baking for neighbors, and was an avid Yankees fan.
Surviving are a daughter and her husband Dolores and Gerald Wills, Watertown; granddaughter Deborah and Steven Busby, Depauville; two great grandchildren Michael and Kyle; two sisters Lettabelle Offenmuller, Mechanicville; and Deloures Hanson, Brownville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Elijah and Elizabeth; her husband Paul Bevens; a son Clarence Edward Bevens and a sister Luella Gonseth.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. There are no calling hours or funeral.
